Hero firefighters have saved the life of a stricken horse who became stranded in Storm Dennis . The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the incident within a field near Gorebridge , Midlothian, last month.
A horse , named Ace, who suffers from radical nerve damage caused by a previous accident, had lost his footing and blown over in the strong winds .
A two hour rescue mission was launched to get Ace back on his feet, with fire crews battling wet and miserable weather conditions.The firefighters worked with volunteers and a local farmer, who used a forklift to gently move Ace onto more stable ground where he was able to get back on his feet.
