Heartbreaking tributes paid to 'superhero' ambulance worker killed on duty when windscreen hit

Tributes have flooded in for an ambulance worker who was killed on duty when an object flew through the windscreen of his vehicle - as the first pictures of him emerge.

Grandfather Jeremy Daw was the passenger in the vehicle which was responding to a 999 call on Saturday morning when an object slammed into the front of the ambulance.No other vehicles were involved.

And now Jeremy's family have posted heartbreaking tributes online to their 'hero'. His granddaughter posted on Facebook : "Not all superheroes wear capes, love you grandad."Another relative shared a similar message honouring Mr Daw's heroic work as an ambulance service technician and celebrating those who wear 'the green uniform'.Mr Daw, believed to be in his 60s, was sitting in.
