Philip Ogden, 32, died when a Ford Focus he was a passenger in hit another car on Sunday night. Police say the Focus drove through a give way section of the road on an industrial estate on Bayley Street in Stalybridge before crashing into an Audi A3.
It's believed that there were three other passengers in the Focus who fled the scene. Philip, whose son is just four-weeks-old, was pronounced dead at the scene.
