Heartbreak as families pay tribute to 'life-long' friends killed in Christmas crash

Christmas shopping were life long-friends, their families have revealed in a heart-wrenching tribute. Ellie Crossley and Rebecca Doughty, both 20, were pronounced dead after being involved in a catastrophic crash on the A5117 near Mollington, Chester.The pair were on their way home from a shopping trip in a silver Citroen when they collided with a blue BMW shortly before 9.30 pm on November 25.

The BMW driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries and has since been identified as a 28-year-old man, reports North Wales Live.

A statement released by Cheshire police on behalf of both families said: "Ellie Crossley, from Holywell, and Rebecca Doughty, of Connah's Quay, were lifelong friends."The girls, both aged 20, were travelling home.
