Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone, signed by JK Rowling, has sold for $182,000 (£100,000) at an auction in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The auction called, Rare Books, Manuscripts, Maps & Photographs, also featured a rare James Bond book by author Ian Fleming going under the hammer.  Related: New Harry Potter series is to be made by JK Rowling The 1997 Harry Potter hardback was deemed to be so rare because it contained a personal message from the author JK Rowling saying, ‘6-9-97 / For James, Kate and Laura, with best wishes, J.K.
