Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s children were reportedly invited to Frogmore Cottage to celebrate Lilibet’s first birthday party.William and Harry were reported to have fallen out at the end of 2018, and the party invitation was apparently intended as an “olive branch”.

But, says a royal source, William and his wife Kate Middleton had a previous engagement – a special visit to Cardiff Castle to mark Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

As a result, Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, seven, and four-year-old Prince Louis didn’t get to see their cousins Archie, three, or Lilibet, one, while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were in the UK.Instead the Cambridges sent their good wishes to Lilibet long distance, posting a special message on Instagram.A Palace source told Page Six: “Things are still fraught — William is still wary of spending any time alone with Harry as you never quite know what may be reported back afterwards.”Lilibet did get to meet one member of her family, though.

She reportedly met her namesake – her Majesty the Queen – more than once during the short visit.Harry and Meghan took their daughter to meet her great-grandmother twice; one shortly after they landed in London on Wednesday, spending a little more time with Her Majesty at Windsor Castle on Friday evening.Lilibet’s brthday was marked by a picnic with close friends and family.
