Grieving husband seen carrying dead wife 3km to get cremated amid India's Covid crisis
dailystar.co.ukcoronavirus crisis in India.Heartbreaking footage shared onto social media shows the man, known as Swamy to the locals, and a group of men walking on the street where motorbikes speed past.Swamy carries the body of his wife Nagalaxmi along the street of Kamareddy, a town in southern Telangana state on Sunday (April 25).Sadly, no drivers stop to give the man a lift during the three-and-a-half kilometre journey to the burial site.According to the Times of India, Nagalaxmi was not feeling well and collapsed at a train station where she later died on suspicion of Covid-19.It is said the local police gave the man money to pay for her burial but refused to touch her for fear of catching the virus.India has become the epicentre for the coronavirus.
