The number of coronavirus cases in the borough is rising rapidly - thought to be driven by the B.1.617.2 strain of the virus, often called the Indian variant - with official figures detailing a rate of 228.5 infections per 100,000 people, more than twice as high as the same time last week and the highest in the country.
It comes amid a period of intense pressure on GP surgeries, which have been made central to the rollout of Covid vaccinations.
