This year’s Grand National at Aintree has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic in the UK. The world famous race was due to be held on April 4 but the three-day meet will now not take place.
Horse racing had already been put behind closed doors from Tuesday until the end of March because of the coronavirus outbreak.
It comes just a few days after the Cheltenham Festival went ahead with crowds flocking to the course for all four days. But it won’t be the case for the National, where back-to-back winner Tiger Roll was expected to make a strong case for another victory.
