The government has made a U-turn on its opposition of face masks being worn in school, saying it's up to teachers to enforce mask rules if they wish, the Mirror understands.
The switch in the official position came after growing criticism of the Government's guidance, which ruled out face masks for pupils in England.
The Welsh Government will decide on Wednesday whether youngsters will be required to wear face coverings in certain areas such as corridors.
Secondary schools in Scotland will be given "obligatory guidance" that pupils should wear face coverings when moving around schools from Monday, Scotland's Education Secretary John Swinney confirmed on Tuesday.
