new distillery in Glasgow's southside has created a rum inspired by a classic Scottish dessert.The Jacobite Spirit Company's Charlie’s Chopper Raspberry Spiced Rum is based on cranachan and is the second foray into the craft rum market.The limited-edition, flavoured spiced rum is the follow up to The 45 Scottish Spiced Rum and is described as balancing the "vibrance of fresh raspberries" with "subtle hints of vanilla and the richness of toasted oats".Jacobite Spirits’ master distiller Tony Stapleton explained that cranachan was traditionally made to mark the joy of the harvest - which fitted their plan to create a drink that inspired positive feelings and celebration.He stated that at 40% ABV, Charlie’s Chopper Raspberry Spiced Rum is.
