On Tuesday, Great American Family announced they will soon launch Great American Mysteries — following closely in the footsteps of Hallmark, which also has Hallmark Movies & Mysteries under its umbrella.

The film, which is the pair's third Hallmark film together, was co-developed by Kemp, who serves as an executive producer alongside Chabert.Closing out the month is the debut of the reimagined Aurora Teagarden franchise, which relaunches with a prequel toplined by Skyler Samuels as a younger version of the character previously played by former Hallmark star Candace Cameron Bure.

On Thursday, the network announced the return of the franchise with a new prequel series, “Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Something New,” set to premiere later this year. Skyler Samuels will star as young Aurora, while Evan Roderick will play young Arthur. Marilu Henner will return as Aida Teagarden. “Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Something New” is set after Aurora has graduated college and returns home in Lawrenceton. “While her mother, Aida, struggles to keep her newfound real estate business, Aurora supports herself by working as a teacher’s assistant in a crime fiction class, and waitresses at the local diner at night, where she shares her love of researching true crime with her friend Sally and police officer Arthur,” Hallmark’s press release reads. “When Sally’s fiancé doesn’t show up at their wedding rehearsal, Maid of Honor Aurora gets Arthur to help her search for him. When they discover a body, everyone assumes it is Sally’s tardy groom, but when it turns out to be someone else, Sally’s fiancé becomes the main suspect.”

Not only will she develop, produce and star in programming across both GAC Family and GAC Living, she will also be in an executive role at GAC and help to curate programming for the networks overall.She is set to develop and produce original content through her company, Candy Rock Entertainment, will help create year-round seasonal celebration content and will have a large part in the company’s annual “Great American Christmas.” Although the new GAC deal is not exclusive, she will not appear in any holiday films on other networks in the 2022-2023 season.“Crown Media has enjoyed over 10 years of collaboration with Candace,” a Hallmark spokesperson tells Variety.
