A Royal expert has suggested that while the Royal Family may not be able to stop Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from undertaking more privately arranged overseas tours, they could certainly interfere with the couple's plans.

Earlier this month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew off to Nigeria for a three-day visit, where they championed the Invictus Games, visited a school, and reviewed a military parade - activities reminiscent of a full-fledged Royal tour.

Despite stepping back from official Royal duties in 2020 to start a new life in the USA, the couple has continued to participate in such activities. They've also managed to rake in millions through private ventures, including Harry's autobiography 'Spare' and their Netflix series.Tom Sykes, The Daily Beast's Royal editor, shared his thoughts on the situation with The Express saying: "Everywhere they went in Nigeria they were greeted as royalty. The royals can't stop them doing more tours, but the government might seek to apply serious diplomatic pressure on friendly states not to host these quasi-royal tours." Harry and Meghan were invited to Nigeria by Christopher Muse, the Chief of Defence Staff of the western African nation, with the goal of promoting the Invictus Games, which Nigeria is contemplating hosting in the future.

During their visit, the couple seemed to be warmly welcomed by the citizens of the African nation and made sure to engage with local individuals as much as possible, reports the Mirror.
