A 15-year-old girl spent a night sleeping at a bus stop after she was sent to a care home 70 miles away. The teenager, who cannot be named, ran away from the home in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
She ended up curling up in a bus stop in West Hull after initially being sent to Blackpool, some 150 miles away. Describing the experience, the girl told HullLive : “It was scary being on the streets.
I slept in a bus stop in Anlaby Road. “It was very cold and I was on my own. It was a very long night. I feel in danger now.” But Hull City Council says it has now found a place for the girl and is working on a longer term plan for her.
