Furious Ukraine president Zelenskyy strips two 'traitors' of their military ranks

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stripped two top military officials of their ranks after they were accused of being traitors.

The furious leader branded two generals as “anti-heroes” who had “ violated an oath to their country” during his nightly address to the nation.

Speaking from the beleaguered capital Kyiv, he accused to the two high-ranking officials - who worked for the national security service - of failing in their duty to protect the country from Vladimir Putin's Russian forces.

And while he did not provide details of the alleged offences, he warned others would be punished if they were found to have betrayed the nation.Addressing the country last night, he said the overall head of internal security as well as the head of the agency's branch in the Kherson region had been sacked.Speaking on the 36th day of the Russian invasion, he said: “Today another decision was made on anti-heroes - now I don't have time to deal with all traitors, but gradually all of them will be punished. “That is why Andriy Olehovych Naumov, former head of the main department of internal security at the Security Service of Ukraine, and Serhiy Oleksandrovych Kryvoruchko, former head of the SBU directorate in the Kherson region, are no longer generals. “Those servicemen among senior officers who have not decided where their homeland is, who violate the military oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people as regards the protection of our state, its freedom and independence, will inevitably be deprived of senior military ranks."Random generals don't belong here.”The country’s inspirational president, who has earned worldwide praise for his leadership during the invasion, had revealed in his video that he’d given out nearly 140.
