Friends of Dunedin plan to spruce up tired 50-year-old Lanarkshire play park

A rundown recreation area is being given a much-needed makeover thanks to the Friends of Dunedin Park.The community group formed in 2019 but their grand plans for sprucing up the area were put on hold when the COVID pandemic hit.Now, in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council (SLC), Friends of Dunedin are determined to get their exciting plans for the park back on track.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Speaking to Lanarkshire Live, Ann said: "Both Carolann and myself decided to start the group three years ago as we thought the swing park was looking a bit sad and neglected. "Some of the equipment is over fifty years old but it is maintained and checked regularly by the ground services team."We both feel that the area could be so much more than it is.

Obviously COVID stopped things from happening over the last two years."We had things in place just before the first lockdown
