Bury Council recently introduced fixed penalty notices for the illegal dumping of waste as an alternative to the often lengthy and costly process of taking offenders to court.

Extra enforcement officers have been taken on in a bid to crackdown on fly-tipping around the borough. It comes after the number of incidents in Bury increased by a third from 2,998 in 2019/20 to 3,898 in 2020/21.
