Floyd Mayweather Jr has been told he can "fight whoever the hell he wants" after talks over his money-spinning Dubai exhibition match fell through. 'Money' was set to take on social media star Money Kicks – real name Rashed Belhasa – in an exclusive boxing bout on the helipad at the top of the Burj Al Arab hotel.

However, sources told Mirror Sport on Tuesday that talks between the two parties have broken down and the February 20 bout between the two will no longer be going ahead.

Mayweather is still reportedly holding out hope of taking part in an exhibition bout on that date, though no replacement opponent has been confirmed. If a fight against someone does still go ahead, it will be the latest of the American's exhibition fights that have been a huge source of income since he retired from professional boxing.

His 2017 fight against UFC star Conor McGregor reportedly earned him £220m and was a huge PPV hit. And since then he has fought the likes of kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa and YouTuber Logan Paul.
