First lorries leave Dover for France after three days of chaos stuck at border

Lorries are finally beginning move across Dover again after frustrations boiled over at the port. The first lorries in days to cross the Channel have been spotted making the journey on ferries as the crucial Port finally whirs back into action.

Yesterday truckers clashed with police as they faced more delays after the border re-opened this morning following days stuck in a travel ban.

Scenes of huge queues of lorries stretching through Kent prompted alarm as France closed the border to the UK following the discovery of a new strain of coronavirus.

Dover's port re-opened on Wednesday morning after the three day hour shutdown that left thousands of truckers stranded with their quarry in queues at the border.
