A baby is believed to be the UK’s first coronavirus lockdown child after being born just hours after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced tough restrictions on movement.
Little Millie Eliza Best's mum Chelsea, 28, was having contractions when midwives told her the UK had just entered full lockdown.
Just one hour later, little Millie was born at 11.38pm last Monday at Northampton General Hospital, weighing 7lbs 11oz. Dad Matt Best, 30, could old spend an hour with his baby daughter on before returning for reduced visiting hours between 6pm and 7pm the following day.
The happy couple were allowed to return home on the Wednesday, but haven’t been allowed to show Millie to friends and family due to social distancing rules.
