Father Ted stars now - sudden death weeks after finale, arrests and £2k per minute wage

Channel 4 on Friday, April 21 1995.It followed the misadventures of three errant priests who were dishonourably exiled to the fictional far-flung Craggy Island.

They were banished by Bishop Leonard Brennan for various reasons but mainly for bringing shame on the Irish Catholic Church.In spite of the sitcom being quite controversial for religious mockery, the programme quickly became one of Channel 4's most popular ever series and even won two BAFTAs.The hilarious comedy also provided a platform for some of Ireland's most talented actors, with one member of the cast now fronting their very own talk show.After 25 successful episodes including a Christmas special, the thriving show was taken off air on May 1 1998.Here, Daily Star explores where the Father Ted cast are now?

From tragic deaths, a warrant for arrest and showbiz fame, we've got it all.Dermot Morgan played hapless Father Ted who was banished to Craggy Island for alleged financial impropriety.It was alleged that Father Ted was punished for 'resting' funds in his own account which ultimately deprived a young boy of trip to London so that could instead venture to Las Vegas.Before Morgan was cast for the main role, he had already written and starred in a number of Irish comedies.However, it was Father Ted that soar his fame soar to new heights.Just one month after filming the last ever episode of the Irish Catholic Church comedy, Morgan tragically died from a heart attack during a dinner party with family at his London home.

Morgan's sister, Denise, had been with Morgan at the time of his sudden death explained that she thought her brother would be ok after she'd not recognised the symptoms.
