Family fuming after travelling six hours to beach only to be turned away

mirror.co.ukA family who travelled for more than six hours to a popular beach were fuming after being turned away by police. A man and his four children drove all the way from Birmingham to Durdle Door in Dorset only to be told the beach was full and roads were closed.
Officers informed the family the beach was too busy before sending them for a six-and-a-half hour drive back home. Brits have flocked to beaches this weekend as temperatures soar to more than 30C in some areas.
Weymouth and Bournemouth were two of the hardest-hit beaches, with photos from beachside webcams in both places showing the seafronts getting busier and busier throughout the day.
