Twenty households were forced to evacuate last night after a major cliff collapse on the Kent coast. A large section of the cliff edge fell away after years of erosion onto a beach in Eastchurch on the Isle of Sheppey just before 10pm.
Dramatic drone footage shows one home teetering perilously close to the brink. The house was just 30 metres away from the cliff edge.
Residents from Surf Crescent and Third Avenue had to grab personal items from their home and spend the night at a temporary welfare centre.
Emma Tullet, her partner and four children had to be evacuated this morning. Writing on Facebook, she said: “The house is still there.
