Brits should be bracing themselves as a staggering -9C mini ice age is set to engulf the UK next week.As temperatures dip well below freezing heavy snow will also fall in all parts of the country, meaning that this year's wacky weather is showing no signs of letting up.
According to advanced weather modelling maps from WX Charts, the icy plunge is due to commence at the end of next week. On Sunday (March 13) the mercury will fall off a cliff, hitting a baltic -8C or -9C in parts of Scotland.
Northern parts of England won't be much more inviting with lows of -6C to -7C forecast there, whereas in Wales temperatures should hit -3C.
The Midlands and Northern Ireland should just about manage to keep above freezing, and the picture will be very different down south as highs of 10C are forecast around Devon and Cornwall.
