EastEnders star has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of an alleged "large-scale" fraud in an early morning raid. The unnamed actress, who is said to have been a main character on the BBC soap, is being investigated by a special team of anti-organised crime police, according to The Sun.
The publication reports that the woman was held after an early morning raid in East London.It's reported she was then taken to a custody centre at Gravesend police station in Kent before being quizzed and released under investigation later on in the day.The alleged fraud conspiracy has not yet been specified in detail, while officers from the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit – or Ersou – investigate.Ersou is one of 10 regional organised crime units in England and Wales which take on serious crimes and terrorism.And the unnamed actress – who cannot be named for legal reasons – was arrested by Ersou's economic crime unit.Ersou confirmed to The Sun that the arrest took place and that the investigation is ongoing.The former soap star reportedly appeared on British television for three decades, and was also a main character on EastEnders.It's reported that police stormed her address at which she is currently believed to be living and took away documents and electronic devices.A source told The Sun: "It was an early-morning raid.
