England fans could be forced to pay more than £13 for a bottle of beer at the World Cup finals. Hosts Qatar restrict the sale of booze to restaurants, state-run shops and hotels – and prices are already sky high.

Writing online, he warned England fans: “Hotels in Doha are nearly full and there will be no lack of consumers for the city’s tourism industry.“There will be a price hike in alcoholic beverages.”The tournament’s website warns that “drinking alcohol outside of designated areas is prohibited” and “it is not permitted to bring alcohol into Qatar”.Meanwhile, England supporters will compete alongside the Three Lions in Qatar for their own 'World Cup'.Football chiefs are laying on a five-a-side event for rival groups which will mirror the tournament.
The Fans’ Cup will be contested by followers of all 32 nations over four days during the competition.A Qatar government spokesman said: "Fans are central to the success of the first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East and Arab world.
