Emmerdale star says Naomi is set for 'angry revenge' as Alex's lies are confirmed
msn.comEmmerdale, Alex (Liam Boyle), isn’t as bad as everyone thinks he is. She’s perfectly ready to ignore all the warnings from Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and others about his drug dealing, blackmailing past, having fallen for his apparent charms.
Karene Peter explained the attraction. ‘She knows what it feels like to be misunderstood,’ she told us. ‘She knows what it feels like for people to think you’re a bad person and not have any other view of you so she kind of feels for Alex in that way and sees a bit of herself in him, so she definitely feels a connection based on that. ’Naomi totally accepts Alex at his word when he says he’s changed and deserves another chance, Karene said. ‘He’s really charming and very convincing and she completely takes him at his word.
I think the more people push back on that, the more she believes in his reinvention. ’But viewers know that Alex can’t be trusted even if Naomi refuses to accept it and before long he starts to show his true colours when we see him eavesdropping on Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) talking on the phone about a drug delivery to the surgery.
Then Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) spots him talking to a mystery woman on the outskirts of the village and reports back to Naomi.
