Outgoing president Ray Jones opened the meeting of East Kilbride Probus Club and welcomed everybody to its 30th AGM. Before he started the agenda, Mr Jones made mention of the recent death of one of its stalwart members, Jim Dunlop.For many years Jim had taken photos of the speakers, club lunches, the trips the club made which he then put together in a montage of the club’s activities to be shown at the AGM.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

However, contact with the members was made by issuing a couple of newsletters from the secretary and contributors.The session kicked off with a very interesting talk on the ‘Origins of Jazz’ then about the invention of the printing press.
This was followed with a talk about the discovery of the North West Passage.The Christmas lunch was held at the Bonnyton Golf Club where a good time was had by all – especially with Barrie Crawford showing an old black and white film called ‘Dinner for One’ which, although performed in English, has been shown each New Year on German TV and provided great hilarity.Starting back in January saw them decanting
