East Kilbride couple making thousands of vital PPE masks for frontline workers using 3D printers

As a global shortage of COVID-19 PPE continues to cripple the NHS, one East Kilbride couple have committed to making thousands of masks to protect the frontline.

Working around the clock from their West Mains home, Andy McKechnie and Katie Cornes have been making Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to order using 3D printers.In just one week they have taken 1500 orders of masks, visors and ear relievers from hospitals, GP surgeries and care homes across East Kilbride, Lanarkshire and Glasgow desperately in need of protection against coronavirus.In fact, their selfless service is in such high demand they had to buy a third printer this week just to keep up with production.Andy, 27, is an account manager with a degree in product design
