Plans to demolish the iconic O2 ABC venue in Glasgow have been given the green light after a heritage body withdrew their oppostion.
Historic Environment Scotland will now support plans to pull down the premises on Sauchiehall Street following a devastating fire last June, reports Glasgow Live.
The u-turn was sparked after new findings as to the building's condition showed it had “dramatically deteriorated.” Having been left at the mercy of the elements following a fire at the neighbouring Glasgow School of Art, the building stands at risk of total collapse.
