F1 fans have received an apology as they scramble to secure tickets for next year's British Grand Prix.After a thrilling Silverstone race in July in front of 140,000 fans, tickets have gone on sale for the 2023 event.

However, fans trying to purchase tickets via the official Silverstone website have reported huge problems.Some fans say they have been stuck in an online queue for hours while others have had payments rejected and had to queue again.

Silverstone has introduced a £99 membership scheme offering fans priority tickets to the Grand Prix, plus discounts for other events at the home of British motorsport.

A variable pricing structure, based on demand, has also been introduced.
