BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker has reflected on his decision to leave the BBC show to become lead anchor on Channel 5 News.
The 45-year-old presenter announced last Monday (April 4) that he had quit his role as BBC Breakfast anchor after six years and has since found himself subject of speculation as to why he made the decision.Setting the record straight, the 45-year-old penned on Twitter: “It is often the case that the simple truth is much duller than all the made-up ‘moles’ and so-called ‘sources claim.”He continued: “In a nutshell… a bloke with a really good job, which he loved, got offered a really good job somewhere else which provided an amazing new challenge and the chance to make some exciting TV.”The presenter explained that he told his current employers that even though it was a “tough decision”, he decided to leave the show.He informed his followers that the BBC are now “trying their best to allow him to make a dignified departure.” The former Strictly star signed off his tweet by saying: “Have a great Monday.
