But they could be seen with the coverings down over their chins or taken off and in their hands, which would potentially contaminate the mask.
The general medical advice is to get a fresh mask as soon as you have removed one, rather than pulling it down over your face or touching it too much.
One viewer tweeted: "In #Corrie, everyone wears a mask to walk into an indoor place where someone else is, and then takes it off to talk to them. "They even do it at people's sick beds.
