Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has put the country under an Italy-style lockdown as part of its state of emergency measures designed to combat the virus.
According to a draft decree, Spaniards will be ordered to stay at home unless they’re buying food, medicine, go to the hospital, work or other emergencies.
It comes as Jet2 cancelled all flights to Spanish destinations, and turned around half a dozen planes mid-air. Jet2 has confirmed to Daily Star Online that it is now working on a plan to repatriate Brits from Spain.
The airline wrote to hotels last night announcing its plans and told Daily Star Online that it is working to figure out logistics in a fast moving situation.
