Coronation Street could be going off-air for the first time in its 60-year history if the cast can't get back to filming soon, the Sun reports.

ITV bosses have already dropped the soap to airing just twice a week in a bid to keep it on air for as long as possible amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Due to people having to social distance by six foot, and only being able to leave home for only essential items and an hour's exercise a day, filming reportedly stopped the day before the lockdown was put into place.

And now Corrie star Andy Whyment, who won the nation's hearts when he starred on last years I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, has revealed that it could potentially go off air for the very first time.
