Conor McGregor could return to the UFC against Justin Gaethje on July 11. The Irishman, along with the rest of the sporting world, is in limbo due to the global coronavirus was has ground the promotion to a halt.
McGregor had hoped to fight three times this year and started 2020 with a 40-second demolition of Donald Cerrone in January.
Gaethje would offer a gateway to a rematch with lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov who is due to defend his title against Tony Ferguson on April 18.
UFC president Dana White has insisted that fight will go ahead, but not in New York as originally scheduled. White is keen for McGregor to face Nurmagomeodv for a second time following McGregor's fourth-round defeat by the Russian in 2018.
