Chinese restaurant owners 'sick' of racist prank calls asking if they serve bats

Chinese restaurant in Reading have been the victims of continuous racist prank calls from people asking if they serve bat on the menu.

The cruel joke began during the pandemic but even before Covid reached the shores of the UK unknown callers rang asking to know if the restaurant served cat or dog meat.

According to BerkshireLive, Steven Mann and his Chinese wife Joanna say they are both sick of it and have no choice but to report the callers to the police.

Steven, who comes from Coventry, says that the callers put on a "cartoon Chinese accent" and have been known to use a voice distorter.
