Child and woman stranded in Scots sea whilst searching for missing drone

stranded in the sea on an inflatable toy boat whilst searching for a missing drone. The pair, who weren't wearing life jackets, sparked the alarm at around 7.30pm on Sunday after reports of a vessel adrift near to Ardrossan’s North Shore.

However, Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team quickly established the 'vessel' was in fact an inflatable boat and there were two people stranded on board.

The female and child got into trouble due to the windy weather conditions whilst trying to retrieve their drone which had landed in the water some time earlier.

An emergency rescue operation was launched and Troon Lifeboat quickly rescued the pair. Given their time at sea, they were cared for by paramedics at the scene.Neither person required any further.
