Charles Ingram
Charles William Ingram (born 6 August 1963) is an English novelist, computer repairman, and former British Army major who became known for being accused and convicted of cheating on the television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2001, after winning the maximum prize of one million pounds. Following a lengthy trial at Southwark Crown Court, he was convicted on a single count of procuring the execution of a valuable security by deception. He was convicted of an unrelated insurance fraud in 2003, and ordered to resign his commission as a major by the Army Board.

ITV viewers tuning into new three-part drama Quiz, based on the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? cheating scandal in 2001 have become utterly obsessed with the uncanny cast members.

The riveting new drama follows the real-life story of contestant Charles Ingram who was accused of cheating after winning the top prize of one million pounds on the ITV gameshow.

His beloved wife Diana and his brother-in-law Adrian Pollock were also accused of being part of the scam, while both of them had been on the show in the hot seat themselves previously.

Quiz looks back at what happened before the infamous moment, while also going into the much bigger cheating syndicate which was taking place under everyone's nose.
