Rishi Sunak has announced there will be £4.6 billion in extra funding for Scottish Government budget in Barnett Consequentials.The Conservative Chancellor said this amounts in real terms to the “largest block grant since the devolution settlement in 1998”.Sunak has said inflation in September was 3.1 per cent and “is likely to rise further” to four per cent next year due to pressures caused by supply chains and energy prices.
Independent forecaster the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) scaled down its assumption of the scarring effect of Covid-19 on the economy from three per cent to two per cent, Sunak told the Commons.
