Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar has said the pro-independence side would lose a referendum if one was held tomorrow. In a discussion with comedian Matt Forde, he also accused the SNP of keeping Scotland on “pause and repeat” on the constitution.
Sarwar took over as party leader early this year after the abrupt resignation of left-winger Richard Leonard. Within weeks he faced a Holyrood election and came third despite being credited for running a positive campaign.The Glasgow MSP was a guest on Forde’s The Political Party show and the pair had a wide-ranging discussion on stage.
