A man has been jailed for trying to kill his £5.5million lottery winner partner by stabbing her in the face at their luxury home.

Stephen Gibbs, 45, initially denied the attempted murder of his partner Emma Brown, 49, at their £700,000 home during lockdown.

Emma scooped the huge sum around three years ago and quit her job to move into the detached cottage. She required surgery following the knife attack at her plush home in Lakeside, Barry, South Wales, and police arrived at around 10pm on Saturday January 30.
