A house dubbed the "loneliest" in the UK has had £50,000 knocked off its price in the hopes of attracting interest. No 3 Blea Moor Cottages is located in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales, seven miles away from the nearest town of Ingleton and a 20 minute walk from parking. The former railway worker's cottage, built in the 1940s, was originally listed last summer for £300,000 but due to lack of interest, it has failed to sell even as a holiday let.

Agents Fisher Hopper have now reduced the price to £250,000 in the hopes of convincing buyers.Built by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway, who ran the nearby Settle to Carlisle line, the property is next to the Blea Moor signal box, the most isolated in England that Network Rail still staffs.

According to the Mirror, the property is the last standing in a row that contained two other houses which have now been demolished. The cottage will need some TLC from any potential buyers as it requires a complete renovation due to peeling paint, signs of damp and holes in the floor.

But it does sit on the Three Peaks Challenge route as well as the Settle to Carlisle Railway, so it might suit someone with a love of trains.Listed as having three double bedrooms, the house comes with a a store room, kitchen, pantry and living room.
