Easter bank holiday weekend in style by taking to the town in their droves. With many people off work today (April 15), town centres were invaded by droves of bunny-ear clad drinkers last night, intent on enjoying the four-day weekend.Bars and pubs in Leeds, Newcastle and other major cities were packed to the rafters, as forecasters said today that temperatures will hit 22c today - perfect for another night on the tiles.Bookies have even cut the odds on Easter being the hottest on record, with it due to be hotter than Majorca, Spain.Revellers in Newcastle were snapped enjoying themselves, with one young woman getting into the Easter spirit with a pair of bunny ears.A group of lads were spotted at a late-night takeaway, having a munch to soak up the alcohol so they could get back on it on Good Friday no doubt.Liverpool was also hopping mad, with people out in the cities bars in force.The city was in high spirits after Liverpool progressed in the Champions League, and Concert Square was a hive of activity.

Three lads beamed for the camera outside McCooley's Irish bar on the square, while one cheeky couple shared a public smooch nearby.

Highs will push 19C from today and nudge 21C by Thursday, with over 20C expected over the holiday weekend.Majorca is due to be just 17C.In response to the sudden heat, Coral slashed odds on record temperatures from 4-1 to 5-4.Spokesman Harry Aitkenhead said: “The sun will shine and the odds say this Easter could enter the record books.”However, it's gridlock on the roads already as motorists battle to getaway this Easter weekend.Families have been warned it could be the busiest Easter yet, with nightmare queues predicted and warnings to travel early in order to dodge traffic.It is predicted.
