BBC presenter was caught on camera showing a very "British" moment as he tried to hold a sneeze in the middle of his live report.
News reader Shaun Ley was on the afternoon news, giving updates on Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Chancellor Rishi Sunak's fine over their alleged breaches of lockdown allegations.
When he looked up to the camera, he told viewers: "Excuse me I'm about to sneeze."Shaun quickly puts his hand up and goes "malfunction" as he tries to suppress the urge to sneeze.The wait is excruciating to watch and a few seconds later, Shaun puts his hand down and says: "I think I'm gonna wait for this one."He then moves on to continue his report.But Shaun's stint was spotted by his BBC colleague, who shared the video on Twitter and wrote: "This is the most British thing I have ever seen.
The tension...the drama!"A fan was quick to comment and said this is Shaun's "first rodeo" and attached a montage of his previous "sneeze fits"."He's been in training for this very moment," he added.A third wrote: "What I hate is when you have all the symptoms of an incoming sneeze, the gasping, the holding your hand over your face, the fizzy nose.
