A kindhearted Kilmarnock group has donated professional deli equipment to a vital cancer charity. The Kilmarnock Station Community Village (KSCV) handed over a baked tattie oven, milkshake machine, and toastie maker to the Beaston cancer charity. The kitchen equipment totaled nearly £4,500 and will now be homed in the Beatson's Glasgow cafe.KSCV trustee Allan Brown was only too happy to help out the leading cancer charity. He said: "At the station, we offer counselling services and some of people who come to us have been affected by cancer itself."We use our social enterprise, like our scale model shop and gaming events at the weekend and any money generated can go towards counselling or towards the fight against cancer."We used to have a deli and coffee shop on the platform and this was surplus equipment we had."All of the profits from the Beatson's cafe goes directly towards staff or equipment."We thought by giving them the equipment, when someone buys a baked potato there is a direct line towards helping fund the fight against cancer."We also donated a professional toastie maker, the likes which are used by Costa Coffee, it makes a toastie in about 30 seconds.

Along with a milkshake machine."We were happy to donate to such a worthy charity, knowing all the money made from the machines will go back into the charity."Kathleen McLaren, head of trading for Beatson, thanked KCSV on social media. The post read: "We had some very exciting donations to the Beatson Café this week."We would like to say a huge thank you to Allan Brown from Kilmarnock Station Community Village who very kindly donated a Merry Chef, baked potato oven and a milkshake maker“The baked potatoes went down a treat with the staff and patients in The Beatson.
