A mum is urging parents to always seek medical advice after her seven-week-old baby was diagnosed with meningitis.Little Daniel Faulds was blue lighted up to Crosshouse Hospital after his temperature peaked to 38.2C and a corned beef-like rash appeared on his legs.Mum Jacqui Dunlop, 23, said the tot was grunting while breathing – all common signs of meningitis in babies – but an on-call doctor put it down to reflux.Jacqui, of Ayr, said: “He was really unsettled.

He wasn’t wanting to be held and was really stiff. And late in the afternoon I went to change his nappy and noticed a rash on his legs.“But it wasn’t your typical meningitis rash - it went away when I did the glass test.
