A jealous and cruel boyfriend poured boiling hot coffee over his former partner during a campaign of abuse and controlling behaviour.

Steven Halliday, 45, originally from Oldham, assaulted Shameem Younis over a period of 13 months, including another attack which saw him bang her head into a shop window.

He was jailed for 20 months at Mold Crown Court in North Wales for his crimes between July 2021 and August 2022. A judge said the offences had had a 'long-term' and 'serious impact' on his victim, and that he had shown no remorse for his behaviour. READ MORE: It was an Ancoats icon...
