ANGELINA Jolie has come under fire for agreeing a multi-million deal with a Russian oligarch. The actress, a UN Special Envoy for the High Commissioner of Refugees, faces accusations of hypocrisy after recently demanding an immediate end to the war in Ukraine.
Her estranged ex, Brad Pitt, is suing Angelina for selling her stake in their Provence wine estate Château Miraval to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler.
The oligarch, who left the Soviet army age 19, is married to Victoria’s Secret model Tatiana Kovylina and is boss of the SPI Group which sells Stolichnaya vodka along with other alcohol brands.
He was successfully sued by his London-based Chief Investment Officer Vlad Zabelin after sacking him over the phone. Zabelin had objected to Shefler — who is worth £1.1billion — slashing the pay of his 2,000 workers by 30 per cent when the pandemic hit, even though the business was still performing well.
