Lorraine (April 26) wearing a trouser suit because she "doesn't want to be judged for what she wears". Her appearance comes after a newspaper printed claims from an unnamed Conservative MP that she tries to distract Prime Minister Boris Johnson at The House of Commons' despatch box by crossing and uncrossing her legs, à la Sharon Stone 's character in the 1992 movie Basic Instinct.

Calling for more respect towards women Angela said that her choice of clothing for the show - a trouser suit - was a result of not "wanting to be judged for what I wear"."I wanted to be defiant as well, because I don’t think that women should be told how to dress – but I didn’t want to distract from the fact that, actually, it’s not about my legs."I didn’t want people at home thinking, 'Let's have a look to see what her legs are like and how short her skirt is or not'."Because I feel like I’m being judged for what I wear, rather than what I’m saying to you and how I come across."Speaking on the programme she admitted to being "crestfallen" about the accusation and worried about her kids reading the article."I've been overwhelmed because when I heard the story was coming out I rebutted it instantly.

I was like 'This is disgusting, it's completely untrue'," she said, adding that she didn't want her children to see their mum portrayed that way. However she admitted to being "heartened" by people's response to the piece and by its widespread condemnation.Rayner added that the article was "steeped in classism" by insinuating she must be "thick" because she went to a comprehensive school and "promiscuous" because she became a mother when she was young.
